Description

A 65-inch screen, live monster roars triggered by a millimeter-wave sensor, and two players wielding motion-sensing weapons against 4K kaiju.

Overview

Kaiju Rampage is a two-player motion-sensing combat game from LAI Games in which players physically aim and fire weapons against massive monsters rendered in 4K via Unreal Engine on a 65-inch display. The semi-open cabinet, millimeter-wave proximity sensor, and 5.1 channel surround sound work together to pull foot traffic toward the unit — the sensor triggers monster roars and lighting effects when someone walks within range, before a single coin is inserted.

Key Features

Millimeter-Wave Proximity Sensor

An onboard millimeter-wave sensor detects foot traffic in the surrounding area and automatically triggers monster roar audio and dynamic lighting effects — activating the unit as an attention signal even when idle. The semi-open cabinet design keeps the screen fully visible from multiple approach angles, amplifying the effect.

4K Unreal Engine Visuals on a 65-Inch Display

Gameplay runs on Unreal Engine and outputs at 4K resolution on a 65-inch screen. Four distinct kaiju — Gigantic Crocodile, Pterosaur, Wolf, and Raptor — appear across multiple stage environments including desolate ruins and ancient deserts, each rendered with cinematic lighting.

Motion-Sensing Weapon Controllers

Both player positions use motion-sensing controllers rather than fixed gun hardware. Players physically aim and move their weapons to target and attack kaiju, and the game includes exclusive weapons and combo mechanics that vary by player timing and movement.

5.1 Channel Surround Sound

A six-channel 5.1 surround audio system surrounds both players with directional monster sounds, weapon effects, and environmental audio. At 1,600W total power draw, the cabinet delivers the full audio field without external speaker hardware.

Card System Ready

The cabinet ships with card system compatibility built in, supporting cashless payment and player-tracking integrations used in modern FEC deployments.

How It Plays

Each player grabs a motion-sensing weapon and physically aims, swings, and fires at a kaiju filling most of the 65-inch screen — the game reads the weapon’s real-world position and translates it directly into targeting data. Combo mechanics reward coordinated attack timing between the two players, so both sides of the cabinet are active simultaneously rather than taking turns. From across the venue, bystanders see two players in full-body motion in front of a screen-wide monster, with roar audio and reactive lighting punctuating every major hit.

Why Operators Love It

Idle Attract Without Staff Involvement

The millimeter-wave sensor fires monster roar audio and lighting effects automatically when it detects a person nearby — the cabinet self-promotes during idle periods without any staff interaction.

Removable Header for Low-Ceiling Venues

The header assembly detaches, dropping the installed height from 119 inches to 84 inches. This gives operators with ceiling constraints a direct path to installation without cabinet modification.

Cashless Payment Integration Out of the Box

Card system readiness ships standard — no aftermarket reader kit required. Operators running cashless or hybrid payment floors can connect the unit without additional hardware installation.

Extended Session Design with Continue Mechanics

The game’s average playtime runs approximately 40 minutes per session across its multiple stages and boss encounters, with continue options presented at each failure point — giving operators a natural upsell moment within an already-long session.

Ideal Placement

Best suited for family entertainment centers, large arcades, and entertainment venues with sufficient floor depth — the assembled footprint runs 116 inches deep. The semi-open cabinet and audio output at 5.1 channel work best in open floor plans rather than enclosed corridors.
